Relational creativity is the concept that creativity is a shared, social process, rather than an isolated product of a single “lone genius”. In this view, the “art object” as only the product, or fruiting body, of that part of human existence that takes place within our interconnections. As Desmund Tutu put it, “a person is a person through other persons”. Creativity is what we are, both in the metaphorical and literal sense. Our minds literally assemble our personalities through a creative act of sustained imagination, and together, these walking hallucinations dream the world into being through our collective hopes, dreams, and fears, which we make manifest in our lives.
It is my belief that this moment in human evolution requires us to take ownership of this reality, and that we do this by engaging in creative play, together, as often and as powerfully as we can. This is my mission.
